How a professional services brief actually runs

The discipline decides part of the workflow, but most of it is the same. Whether the role is a finance manager in Bristol or a head of marketing in London, we follow the same steady process so nothing slips.

1. Discipline-specific brief

We come into the briefing call ready. If it is a finance role, we know which qualifications matter at that level. If it is HR, we know the difference between an ER specialist and a generalist HRBP. We will not waste your call asking the basics.

2. Salary calibration against the local market

Every shortlist is calibrated against current UK salary data plus what we are seeing live across the desk this month. Professional services salaries in London differ from Manchester or Bristol. If the band looks low for the role, we will tell you before we start, not after the offer is rejected.

3. Vetted, ranked shortlist

Three to six candidates per brief, properly vetted, with our written notes. Right-to-work, references, qualifications and motivation are checked before introduction. We rank, we do not just send.

4. Offer and onboarding support

We coordinate the offer, manage counter-offer pressure, line up the start date, and check in at day 7, 30 and 90.

Disciplines we deliberately do not cover

Industrial, manufacturing, food production and trades roles sit best with sector specialists, so we point those briefs to trusted partner agencies. The same is true for clinical healthcare and executive search above £200k base. We will tell you within one call if we are not the right fit.

Got a brief that fits one of these?
